Ricardo Montero is the founder and principal leader of Birding Holidays, company specialized in Birding and Nature. He is an experienced guide residing within the vicinity of the world famous Monfragüe National Park committed with the nature consevation finding great satisfaction in sharing his kowledge of the natural heritage. He as an experienced local birding, guide knows very well  the geography of Extremadura and has an extensive knowledge of the region and its fauna guiding birding tours for national and international groups from several countries ( English speaker).

He has led in Portugal, Asturias, Andalusia, Pyrenees an others parts of Spain. His varied interests have taken him to France, UK, Portugal,Canary islands,India,Sri Lanka and Ethiopia.He was born in San Sebastian ( Basque Country) and spent his early childhood in Catalonia before moving definetely to Extremadura, where he has been living for more than 20 years. He was graduated from the University of Huelva as a Physical Education Teacher his passion is natural history, birds specially. He has been 15 years organizing trips and birding routes and has worked with the goverment of Extremadura and different conservation organizations such as Seo/Birdlife and ADENEX in varius activities: Wintering Bird Atlas of Spain, FIO, Crane´s Festival, Cáceres Bird Festival, etc

A Guidex member ( Extremadura Association of professional bird and Nature guides) collaborates with other companies like: Spainbirds, Norfolk Birding, ECOTUREX, Ramblers,ACE Cultural Tours, Birding and wild photo among others.
